Madison Stewart

"Art is not always about pretty things. It's about who we are, what happened to us and how our lives were affected." -Elizabeth Broun

Madison Stewart studied as an art student at Plymouth State University. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting in the spring of 2023. Madison grew up in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. She has explored art her whole life. Madison is mainly an oil painter but likes to dabble among mixed media and plaster mediums as well. She has a special interest in surrealist portraits and oil paint. A large part of her inspiration comes from Frida Kahlo. She has done a series of her personal medical journey, in the same fashion Frida Kahlo painted portraits of her spinal issues. She has also done an oil paint series depicting the Garden of Eden in a storybook style. Madison works mainly with portraits but has a small series of realistic bark paintings made from plaster. She plans to exhibit her works in many different kinds of shows and exhibitions in the future.
